J&rsquo;aime aller chercher les cols d&rsquo;altitude, me promener sur les petites routes de campagnes et de montagne, si possible loin des itin\u00e9raires trop emprunt\u00e9s par les voitures. Pour mes circuits, je roule de 40\/60kms quand j&rsquo;ai peu de temps (1h30 \u00e0 2h le matin) \u00e0 150\/200kms lorsque je suis motiv\u00e9 et que j&rsquo;ai 5\/6h devant moi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comparaison v\u00e9lo de route classique \/ v\u00e9lo Gravel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Il faut dire que j&rsquo;ai \u00e9t\u00e9 longtemps amoureux de mon v\u00e9lo de route qui r\u00e9pondait \u00e0 toutes mes attentes : l\u00e9ger (9,5kg), en alu, avec fourche carbone, des pneus en 700 x 23, freins \u00e0 patins, un triple plateau 30\/39\/50 et une cassette 9 vitesses 13\/25 qui m&rsquo;ont permis tous les parcours en Montagne et en vall\u00e9e pour relier Chamb\u00e9ry \u00e0 Lyon (100km), faire le tour du massif des Bauges (150km), la travers\u00e9e de la Chartreuse (80kms), grimper les cols de l&rsquo;Iseran, du petit Saint Bernard, du Cormet de Roselend, gravir le relai du Chat, faire le tour du lac du Bourget, Col de la Madeleine, du Galibier etc&#8230; V\u00e9lo toujours bien entretenu, jamais de casse ni de chutes&#8230; <br \/>Du coup, je le bichonnais depuis 15 ans d\u00e9j\u00e0. Alors que ce v\u00e9lo de route Lapierre me plaisait tant&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pourquoi vendre mon v\u00e9lo de route pour acheter un v\u00e9lo Gravel ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La v\u00e9ritable raison de ce changement est l&rsquo;opportunit\u00e9 que m&rsquo;a offert le magasin Montania et la marque Genesis de tester un v\u00e9lo Gravel moderne. <br \/>David, le responsable France de la marque Genesis m&rsquo;avait pr\u00e9venu : pour comprendre les avantages du Gravel et ses nouveaux cadres, groupes, transmission, rien de tel qu&rsquo;un v\u00e9ritable essai sur route. En effet, lire les blogs, les comparatifs et les magazines est une chose. Avec des pneus en 700 x 40mm de large, <strong>le bitume en mauvais \u00e9tat<\/strong>, tr\u00e8s fissur\u00e9, (habituel des routes secondaires, routes d\u00e9partementales en campagne et en montagne) se fait tout simplement oublier. Le confort de roulage est exceptionnel et retire \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de vibrations, c&rsquo;est impressionnant ! En descente, la stabilit\u00e9 des pneus est d\u00e9concertante. Dans un virage en \u00e9pingle par exemple, le v\u00e9lo plonge avec une grande s\u00e9curit\u00e9 dans la courbe. Autant, avec mon ancien v\u00e9lo de route, j&rsquo;avais la sensation de risquer de me mettre au tas si j&rsquo;arrivais dans l&rsquo;\u00e9pingle avec un peu trop de vitesse, autant l\u00e0, avec ce Gravel, j&rsquo;\u00e9tais en parfaite s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2-Le cintre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour avoir pass\u00e9 plusieurs heures sur ce Gravel, j&rsquo;ai \u00e9t\u00e9 bluff\u00e9 par le confort et la stabilit\u00e9 offerte par ce cintre sp\u00e9cifique, plus large et avec de nouveaux angles. <br \/>La premi\u00e8re sensation a \u00e9t\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur du cintre et de sa guidoline. En mont\u00e9e, la main n&rsquo;est pas ferm\u00e9e sur un petit tube mais se retrouve pos\u00e9e avec beaucoup de confort dans la ligne d&rsquo;\u00e9paule sur la partie centrale du cintre. Ensuite, sur le plat, lorsque les mains sont pos\u00e9es sur les cocottes, on profite d&rsquo;une largeur bodybuild\u00e9e tr\u00e8s confortable et agr\u00e9able des leviers qui respecte l&rsquo;espace naturel entre le pouce et l&rsquo;index. Enfin, en descente, on d\u00e9couvre l&rsquo;angle tr\u00e8s ouvert, tr\u00e8s naturel de la position basse, adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 une position tr\u00e8s naturelle avec les coudes ouverts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3-Le freinage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Freins \u00e0 disque de 160mm \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant et \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re : c&rsquo;est top ! Le freinage est s\u00fbr et puissant. Plus rien \u00e0 voir avec mes freins \u00e0 patins. L\u00e0, \u00e7a freine pour de vrai !<br \/>Les leviers sont larges. A 2 doigts&#8230; Tr\u00e8s s\u00e9curisant.  Ce combo pneus larges \/ cintre \u00e9largi \/ freinage puissant est topissime. On passe de 70km\/h \u00e0 10km\/h en quelques m\u00e8tres en toute d\u00e9contraction. Fini les fourmillements dans les doigts \u00e0 force de serrer les leviers dans les descentes de cols&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4-Le braquet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Le v\u00e9lo test\u00e9 \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&rsquo;un groupe de transmission Shimano GRX &nbsp;2 plateaux&nbsp;46\/30  et d&rsquo;une cassette 11-34&nbsp;\u00e9tag\u00e9es sur 11 vitesses<br \/>Braquet maxi : rapport de&nbsp;<strong>4,18&nbsp;<\/strong>(46\/11)<br \/>Braquet mini :&nbsp;rapport de&nbsp;<strong>0,88&nbsp;<\/strong>(30\/34)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sur le plat, j&rsquo;avoue qu&rsquo;il faut d\u00e9j\u00e0 de bonnes cuisses pour bien emmener ce braquet, surtout avec un peu de vent de face. En descente et sur les faux plats descendants, un vrai r\u00e9gal pour appuyer un peu et viser quelques jolies pointes de vitesse en zone d\u00e9gag\u00e9e.<br \/>En mont\u00e9e, ce braquet de 30\/34 permet de mouliner avec une facilit\u00e9 que je n&rsquo;avais encore jamais rencontr\u00e9e :D Il faut dire qu&rsquo;il fallait un peu appuyer en danseuse avec mon ancien braquet de 30\/25 =  rapport de 1.2 qui me faisait parfois bien transpirer dans les mont\u00e9es s\u00e8ches (Relai du Chat, Col de la Colombi\u00e8re&#8230;) !<br \/>M\u00eame d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien fatigu\u00e9 par le col du Grand Cucheron, je n&rsquo;ai pas h\u00e9sit\u00e9 une seconde avant de m&rsquo;attaquer au deuxi\u00e8me col pour profiter un maximum des paysages et de cette belle journ\u00e9e. M\u00eame avec des cuisses carbo, il suffit de mouliner tranquillement dans les c\u00f4tes \u00e0 10% sans difficult\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5-Le cadre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La g\u00e9om\u00e9trie d&rsquo;une majorit\u00e9 des v\u00e9lo Gravel modernes est orient\u00e9e confort postural, moins performance que beaucoup de v\u00e9lo de route, id\u00e9al pour des sorties longues distances sans se casser le dos en 2, couch\u00e9 sur le v\u00e9lo. La position est plus droite, torse plus relev\u00e9, potence plus courte et avec plus d&rsquo;angle, ce qui est vraiment tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ciable. Est ce que je vieillis ? J&rsquo;avoue avoir bien appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 la posture plus droite que mon v\u00e9lo de route ;-)<br \/>Enfin, le + de ce test Genesis, j&rsquo;ai go\u00fbt\u00e9 au cadre en Titane : r\u00e9activit\u00e9 au coup de p\u00e9dale imm\u00e9diat, confort&#8230; <br \/>J&rsquo;en avais entendu parl\u00e9 mais jamais essay\u00e9. J&rsquo;ai vraiment kiff\u00e9&#8230;<br \/>Apr\u00e8s, le budget est l\u00e0, mais la vie est trop courte, il faut savoir se faire plaisir avec la petite reine.<br \/><br \/>A noter : certains Titane<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ma conclusion :<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce test sur le terrain, j&rsquo;ai vraiment pu r\u00e9aliser et constater les diff\u00e9rences majeures entre mon ancien v\u00e9lo de route et les v\u00e9los Gravel modernes.<br \/><strong>Le v\u00e9lo GRAVEL apporte un confort, une stabilit\u00e9 et une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 incroyable ! <\/strong><br \/>On ressent imm\u00e9diatement les diff\u00e9rences. D\u00e8s le 1er kilom\u00e8tre, le Gravel est adopt\u00e9 ! <br \/><br \/>J&rsquo;ai ador\u00e9 le guidon Gravel (un peu bodybuld\u00e9 avec sa guidoline \u00e9paisse, son cintre large et \u00e9vas\u00e9 apportant une position tr\u00e8s d\u00e9tendue et naturelle, ses leviers et cocottes \u00e9largis tr\u00e8s confortables). Les nouvelles dimensions des pneus en 40 absorbent \u00e9norm\u00e9ment les vibrations et font oublier le mauvais \u00e9tat des routes. Ils apportent aussi beaucoup de stabilit\u00e9 en descente. Ensuite, j&rsquo;ai pu appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 le confort du cadre, de part sa g\u00e9om\u00e9trie et son mat\u00e9riau titane tr\u00e8s r\u00e9actif et confortable. J&rsquo;ai vraiment hallucin\u00e9 sur les nouveaux braquets 30\/34 fabuleux en mont\u00e9e qui permettent de mouliner facilement m\u00eame dans les pentes les plus raides sans se fatiguer : \u00e0 vous la longue distance (avec tout de m\u00eame une bonne selle et un bon cuissard mais cela est un autre d\u00e9bat&#8230;). <br \/>J&rsquo;ai aussi ador\u00e9 les freinages puissants des disques en 160mm qui apportent beaucoup de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en descente, surtout \u00e0 l&rsquo;approche des virages en \u00e9pingles. <br \/><br \/>Enfin, cerise sur le g\u00e2teau, ces v\u00e9los Gravel permettent d&rsquo;aller encore plus loin que la route si cela vous tente, pour go\u00fbter un peu plus \u00e0 l&rsquo;aventure via des pistes foresti\u00e8res, des chemins de halage, des sentiers carrossables etc&#8230; Ils vont permettre pour les plus aventuriers des routards, de cr\u00e9er des boucles mixant petites routes oubli\u00e9es et pistes sauvages en campagne ou en for\u00eats :D<br \/><br \/>Ce concept GRAVEL permet de se faire plaisir sur nos routes habituelles mais ouvre \u00e9galement des perspectives de circuits \u00e0 la journ\u00e9e ou sur plusieurs semaines en voyage bikepacking quelque soit l&rsquo;\u00e9tat des routes et pistes rencontr\u00e9es.
